Former Black Panther confidante Earl Caldwell from WBAI had Alton Maddox on yesterday and they really got into it. The archive of the show is available at:

http://archive.wbai.org/files/mp3/080425_150001caldwellc.MP3

For the record, I am a white Flatbush resident and I've been shocked and astounded by this kind of thing over the years. And even though the incident involves a black cop, a latino cop and a white cop, racism is complicated, and it clearly played a significant role both in the shooting and in the "trial." It does go beyond racism, too, to the fact that in general the police are being shown that they can do whatever the hell they want to any of us and get away with it, and that won't stop until someone gets an appropriate sentence for such a heinous crime.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
