Chief Joseph
It seems that there has been a number of blogs pertaining to my neck of the woods lately. There is a disturbing trend with all these blogs. (see Ditmas park blog, Across the park, Planet PLG etc. ) They all seem to want to "change" Flatbush. Kinda like the White Mens burden. We all know how colonization pan out. I've decided to blog about this new world.

”Kinda like the White Mens buddern. We all know how colonization pan out. I've decided to blog about this new world.”
Um…”buddern”?, “colonization”??!!
You might want to learn how to use spell checker before you do too much more blogging.
Please learn how to spell and something about grammar....your blog posts will be taken more seriously....not "more worser."
Hey, what is with the hostility? Did you not understand the comment? He's right there does seem to be a nasty tone to some of the comments about the neighborhood. Some of you need to move to Park Slope, it is what you are striving for isn't it?
I moved here from Park Slope...Real Flatbush is a race baiter and a bore...or is that boar...please don't play the neighborhood card...it is childish.
These fools trying to change your spelling and syntax are the same crowd trying to change Flatbush. The Ohio-transplants are starting to get worried when native NYers blog back. Don't give in. Fight the bastards.
Ohio? Sorry, sorry soul. I think Real Flatbush is trying to ruin this neighborhood. I love my neighborhood and my neighbors...Real Flatbush is just a racist...plain and simple. Hey DAN....get over yourself.
Ohio indeed.
White Jews developed this neighborhood.
This in the home of William Styron who wrote “Sophie’s Choice” and set it here in Victorian Flatbush where many Jews who managed to escape the horrors of the Second World War settled down.
Blacks moved in as the Jews moved out to the Island or to Jersey and now there is another change as younger people needing affordable homes to raise their families are moving in. The insane prices of Manhattan have brought many people of all colors to our neighborhood.
Look at who is buying, young first time home buyers having their first children. It is the way of the world.
I am amazed at the people who did not buy and find their rents soaring. Why didn’t they buy when they had the chance? They could have a home with equity at a price much less than the current rents.
The friends I have made here bought many years ago at prices that are unbelievable now. In fact I envy them their mortgages that are mostly paid off. And these are not new white folks they are Blacks, Hispanics and mixed race people who needed affordable housing and recognized a tremendous opportunity.
This is a great community and there should be no prejudice against anyone who is willing to pay hard earned money to make a home.
I will copy and post this same sentiment elsewhere so all can read it.
