Yvette Clarke issues statement on Immigration

In light of the Immigration debate, our congresswoman Yvette Clarke denounced the Arizona Immigration law. It is a very difficult issue. It is not always black and white. We hope that the U.S Government and Congresswoman Clarke holds Latin American Countries to the same standards that we hold ourselves to, because that is the only way we are truly going to move forward.

It's sad, but I don't think Latin American countries have the moral high ground to lecture the u.s on immigration. It's kind of like the husband who cheats on his wife and then expects her to be completly faithful.

There was never a civil rights movement in Latin America. It's funny because allot of my Dominican friends on facebook have joined a group called boycott Arizona, yet the Arizona law is pretty similar to immigration law in the d.r. The teabagers want to strip citizenship of children of illegal immigrants, yet they already have that law in most Latin American countries. I don't agree with the law, but you have to clean your own house before you criticized others.

Oh yeah, the Dominican Republic loves all those people from Haiti. Oh yeah, the D.R. wants all of them to cross the border and move in -- permanently.

Well sometimes even a Briken clock is right twice a day. This might be the only time in history that I will ever agree with noslappz
