More Racism from local bloggers

The ditmas park blog is promoting a smear that black men are somehow sex offenders on the prowl in Flatbush. In fact statistics show that the majority of sex crime offenders are middle age white males. As seen here on the "to catch a predator" picture gallery, the vast majority of the predators are white males. Why is the ditmas park blog pushing this propaganda & racist smear of black males as "scary predators" when the facts clearly show that the people we in Flatbush should be looking out for are middle age white males?

unbelievable. It's gotten to the point where I won't even bother to read that blog. Either these people are incredibly racially and culturally retarded or are willfully racist. If they are racially retarded, it's not my job to teach them. If they are willfully racist, it's a lost cause. Either way, I don't really care to deal with it. I have better things to do with my life. Life is too short. These bloogers are small insignificant people. I really like your coverage on Haiti. I hope you don't pay too much attention to the insignificant haters. I'll be at the rally doing some positive things for humanity. Peace and God bless.

It's easier to demonize those that you don't know. Look how fox news propaganda network tried to paint the Haitians as a bunch of looting savages. When even their own reporters said that that was not the case, they just ignored it. Same here with that other blog. They don't cover anything east of Ocean Avenue unless it's a crime story. What did you expect from a gentrification blog?

I disagree about ignoring them. If you look at wikipedia their blog is listed for our area. If they claim to represent ditmas park, it should be an accurate representation. This blog claims to have over 20 thousand unique visitors per month. It's imperative to have a strong push back against this smear. At the height of the earthquake, when people who have family in Haiti was still worried, confused and fearful, their biggest story was about a Japanese restaurant and bagle shop opening on cortelyou.

This is very depressing.

Yes I thought it was in poor taste and dreadfully morbid to rave about a new restaurant and bagel shop when your neighbors were still mourning the lost of loved ones. What was even more strange was the fact that they had to be reminded by the church avenue bid to "not forget about haiti" it was a sorry display or ignorance and just plain old lack of decency on their part. I mean how could you rave about a new restaurant in the heart of lil Haiti at the height of one of the biggest disasters in history? It's insane. I mean it was not only the excitement about the Japanese restaurant and bagel shop, also they were gleaming about the NY times review of another restaurant on the same day people in Haiti were dying and starving.

Wow real Flatbush. I fear for you. You are not a very popular guy around here. Way to go after those creapers. It's about time someone took them to task. May I remind you that one of the bloggers is part of the mainstream media.(he writes for polico) Get ready to get blacklisted and blacked out for shining the truth to a msm practice that's been going on for years. Seeing this practice on a micro level and being called out on it so forcefully is truly an eye refreshing.

Oh come on. Don't be so naive. Why should a blog run by a msm guy let statistics and facts get in the way of a good story?

This is too funny. They are now reporting that it was all a big misunderstanding. These people just ran with a false story full of smears, innuendo and outright propaganta. After all the demage had been done, they are now reporting that the nypd is saying that it was all a big mistake??? Whatever happened to varifying a story before you publish it? Especially a story like this!!!!!

This is what they posted

Nathan Thompson from the 70th Precinct Community Council dropped us a note that the news story last week about a blue van seeking to pick up kids in Brooklyn was a mistake. WPIX apparently mistakenly picked up a story about an incident that happened on Webster Avenue in the Bronx and broadcast it as Webster Ave in Brooklyn.

Commander Monteforte at the 70th Precinct yesterday said at the meeting that the story was a mistake. Lets hope that particular van never makes it to our neighborhood.

(There was also a warning from the principal of P.S. 139 and a Daily News article citing Flatbush, and we’re still slightly confused.)

A fucking mistake????? They use all types of media manipulation tactics, scapegoating black men, using false and incomplete information, aimed to brand a whole group of demographics as suspected sexual predators, after all that all they have to say is that it's a mistake????? And that they are "slightly confused?" Slightly confused why? because they assume all black men are the same? That any story that sounds even remotely possible that involves black men should not be verified? shoot now ask questions later??? What the hell is wrong with these people??? I mean isn't one of those bloggers suppose to be a professional journalist?

I think it's a form of Fear mongering. Wikipedia describes fear mongering as, Fear mongering (or scaremongering) is the use of fear to influence the opinions and actions of others towards some specific end.(don't feel so guilty about gentrification, those people are not that decent anyway) The feared object or subject is sometimes exaggerated,(see ditmas park blog exaggeration of isolated incidents that has nothing to do with everyday live) and the pattern of fear mongering is usually one of repetition,(that's always the modus operandi of the ditmas park blog) in order to continuously reinforce the intended effects of this tactic to frighten citizens and influence their political views.(don't worry about housing discrimination, section 8 discrimination, Landlord intimidation and forced migration because of gentrification) It often states that if something is or is not done, a disastrous event will occur,(If we don't gentrify this area, the crimes will continue on and on and don't forget about those scary black male sexual predators wink wink) and that by voting for or against it this can be prevented.(who cares if a family is displaced due to illegal tactics in the name of gentrification) The end result is the voter being scared into changing their vote or opinion to one more favorable to the person that is fear mongering. Big winner for gentrification and white supremacy light. White people feel good about themselves for "saving" these savages from themselves. Lets have a latte, wash rinse and repeat.
